Hamburg AMS Third Round
By Hamburg Masters Official Site
Press Conference with ROGER FEDERER
Federer vs. Robredo 6:2, 6:3
Q: Was it difficult to shake him off in the second?
A: Yes. I thought always in control, but I played a poor game to get broken. That kind of made it hard. At least I came through to the last game. That was important. But all in all it was a good match. Except maybe that one game. I was in control. I had the feeling I can vary my game like I wanted to, come to the net if I felt like it, could stay back. So that’s always a good feeling to have.
Q: Is it slightly strange feelings playing Guillermo in a quarter finals? It should be the finals.
A: That’s how it goes. With such tough draws, you catch them early sometimes. Of course always both have to come through. We are the only ones left from the top seed to come through. If we already play the quarter, it makes even a bigger story because we played in the finals last year. So people might look at this like the finals of this year. But we are still quite far from that. I think I played Moya in the quarter last year as well. So that was tough too. And he came from winning Rome as well. I’m feeling much fresher I guess than him. He had a couple of tough matches back in Rome. So, I hope I can use that to win.
Q: Do you feel 100 % fit now? No aches and pains? No problems with the feet?
A: No, still no problems, so that’s good. Otherwise, I wouldn’t play doubles. I’m feeling good.
